PRAXIS ISSUE 01 is an editorial and product project that reinterprets the Seasnake Shell Jacket, originally conceived by Rayon Vert International and Slam Jam through “Wisdom of the Third Wave” (W3W).
Rooted in the belief that meaningful design empowers anyone,
regardless of skill, PRAXIS transforms production into a tangible and meditative act. By deconstructing and recombining the jacket’s components, it invites direct engagement with materials and processes, fostering a deeper connection to what we wear. Distributed as a broadsheet in a custom format, PRAXIS ISSUE 01 condenses six months of research into a layered publication, both visually and conceptually. Each spread offers three levels of engagement: visual storytelling, technical annotations, and reflective insights. This structure allows readers to decipher complexity and access the mindset cultivated during the development process. To complement the broadsheet, PRAXIS TECNICA 01 is a pocket-sized A6 manual providing a step-by-step guide for beginners. Its clear and inclusive structure demystifies garment construction and challenges the fashion system built on overproduction, disposability, and emotional detachment.
All resources, including the technical manual, patterns, and complete documentation, are available for free download via the PRAXIS ISSUE 01 DRIVE. PRAXIS is both a publication and an operational kit. It is an open invitation to rethink how we design, use, and relate to the objects we produce.
