Dysletter Grotesk is a variable typeface designed to enhance accessibility and improve text readability for individuals with Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), while remaining fully usable for all readers. The project originates from an in-depth research process exploring visual perception, cognitive processes and typographic strategies related to dyslexia.
Entirely developed from scratch, Dysletter Grotesk features linear shapes and a modern, stable structure conceived to reduce visual interference. The typeface includes three variation axes: Weight, which adjusts stroke thickness; Asc/Desc Height, which modifies ascender and descender height to improve character recognition and reading rhythm; and Corner, an axis allowing users to choose more or less pronounced terminal shapes according to personal needs and visual preferences.
Dysletter Grotesk is conceived as a flexible and adaptive tool for educational, editorial and digital contexts, enabling a more comfortable and customizable reading experience.
